The Python for Data Science and AI course that I completed back in the summer of 2020 (one benefit of pandemic times!) was super helpful and a jumpstart to my interest and pursuit of this data learning/doing path. But, Python, like any other language I assume, is a ‘use it or lose it’ type of thing. It’s easy to forget if you’re not applying it. So, while taking my data visualization course in 2021, I decided to utilize some Python by using Plotly for Python for the data visualizaiton work. At this time, I also completed the Python Quick Start, Python for Students, and the Python for Data Visualization courses.

This semester I felt like I needed another Python refresher, so, I took Python for Non-Programmers. It was my “repeat it all to me like I’m a 5th grader” course and I realized I probably should have taken this prior to the IBM Python course! Then, since I’ve worked a bit with ActionScript (Yep, the flash days!) and JavaScript in the past, I was curious how the two compared and differed, so, I explored that via the Python VS. JavaScript for Development course. A basic foundation seems to be coming along but I have no doubt that I’ll need another Python refresher in the not too distant future if I don’t find ways to keep using the language in hands-on projects.
